OpenExchange Granted Key Patents for Video and Multimedia Live Streaming Technology

Lincoln, Massachusetts – May 12, 2020 – OpenExchange, the premier video solutions company for investor communications, announced today the issuance by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office of two key patents for the live multimedia video streaming technology embedded in its Knovio smart media platform.

Both of these patented inventions were developed by KnowledgeVision Systems, which merged into OpenExchange in October, 2019. Listed on the patent as inventors are KnowledgeVision co-founders Alex Kieft and Michael Kolowich, and Head of Engineering Joe McPherson. All of the inventors are currently executives at OpenExchange.

“Variations across the web in network performance, buffering, and latency can wreak havoc on multimedia experiences delivered over the internet,” noted Kolowich, OpenExchange’s Chief Content Officer. “With these new patented capabilities, multimedia presentations are delivered in perfect sync, no matter the latency, network delays, or bandwidth. And our second patent has enabled the NeverLate feature, which ensures that late arrivals don’t need to miss a minute of multimedia livecasts hosted by OpenExchange.”
